How to replace the drum unit of Canon IR2525 copier

Canon IR2525 copier drum unit is a consumable. In a copier, the drum unit has a certain lifespan. After a period of use, the drum unit will deteriorate, at which time it will cause errors when we print or photocopy.

Common errors caused by the Canon IR2525 drum unit are blurred prints, black prints, prints with black streaks, prints with blurred streaks, dirty prints.

Why does the drum unit fail? The drum unit rotates continuously when we use it, so it will wear out the components inside it. For any reason, when the drum unit has expired and causes errors, we need to replace it.

Replacing the Canon IR2525 drum unit is very simple. This is done by a technician, however if you are a customer you can buy a genuine Canon IR 2525 drum unit and replace it yourself.

First we need to open the right door by pressing the button on the door as shown by the arrow in the image below.

Next we open the front door of the machine. We turn the blue lock handle to take out the waste ink cartridge.

Next, slide the magnetic box lock to the right as shown below.

Then hook your hand into the drum cluster lock on the top and pull it forward to remove the drum cluster.

After removing the old drum unit, we open the genuine Canon drum unit box, then remove the protective foam, tape... then proceed to install the drum unit into the machine in reverse order.
