Until now, anyone who uses Apple TV knows that they only provide movies from themselves, not linking or recommending movies from other platforms. Currently, this has been changed, you can easily see movie titles from other movie streaming platforms if you are using an American Apple ID.
Apple has added 53 movie titles to Apple TV, including Oscar winners and other blockbusters. You will easily find famous movie titles such as The Prestige, A Star Is Born, Mad Max Fury Road, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Spider-Man, Kill Bill, Mean Girls and Saving Private Ryan.
Just yesterday while watching movies on Vision Pro , I saw that Apple TV suggested a number of movies from platforms like Disney+, Amazon Prime, Sling,…, with the option to rent, buy or even download. Direct links to other streaming platforms. I don’t know if Netflix will be added in the future. I usually watch movies on Netflix, but the possibility of Netflix being recommended on Apple TV is not high.
The movies recently added to Apple TV mostly come from major studios such as: Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Paramount, Universal, Lionsgate, Disney,… Most of the movies already have cinema standards such as Dolby Atmos, HDR Dolby Vision, besides there are also some videos that support 3D format, if you have Vision Pro you can watch it right now.
Currently, these movie titles are only suggested if you are logged in with an Apple ID in the US. As I said, I use Vision Pro with an American Apple ID, so I found it suggested these movies and was able to watch them immediately.
In addition, some movies have a certain deadline and will be removed from Apple TV at the end of March, so if you haven’t seen them yet, please take advantage of it.
Despite adding new content, Apple says it remains fully focused on growing its original content. This move does not confirm whether Apple will later expand to more movies from other platforms.
This action is currently more like an experiment, maybe in the future they will expand cooperation with other platforms. Other streaming platforms and commission sharing, for example.
