SYSTEM SP TABLES-8
SP8-XXX: DATA LOG 2
Many of these counters are provided for features that are currently not available, such as sending color faxes, and so on. However, here are some Group 8codes that when used in combination with others, can provide useful information.
SP Numbers What They Do SP8211 to SP8216 The number of pages scanned to the document server. SP8401 to SP8406 The number of pages printed from the document server. SP8691 to SP8696 The number of pages sent from the document server.
Appendix: Service Program Mode Tables
Specifically, the following questions can be answered: How is the document server actually being used?
What application is using the document server most frequently? What data in the document server is being reused?
Most of the SPs in this group are prefixed with a letter that indicates the mode of operation (the mode of operation is referred to as an 'application'). Before reading the Group 8 Service Table, make sure that you understand what these prefixes mean.
Prefixes What It Means
T:
Total: (Grand Total).Grand total of the items counted for all applications (C, F, P, etc.). C: Copy application.
Totals (pages, jobs, etc.) executed for each application when the job was not stored on the document server.F: Fax application. P: Print application. S: Scan application.
L:
Local storage (document server)Totals (jobs, pages, etc.) for the document server. The L: counters work differently case by case.
Sometimes, they count jobs/pages stored on the document server; this can be in document server mode (from the document server window), or from another mode, such as from a printer driver or by pressing the Store File button in the Copy mode window. Sometimes, they include occasions when the user uses a file that is already on the document server. Each counter will be discussed case by case.
O:Other applications (external network applications, for example) Refers to network applications such as Web Image Monitor. Utilities developed with the SDK (Software Development Kit) will also be counted with this group in the future.
The Group 8 SP codes are limited to 17 characters, forced by the necessity of displaying them on the small LCDs of printers and faxes that also use these SPs. Read over the list of abbreviations below and refer to it again if you see the name of an SP that you do not understand.

8005 | S:Total Jobs | |
8006 | L:Total Jobs |
- These SPs reveal the number of times an application is used, not the number of pages processed.
- When an application is opened for image input or output, this counts as one job.

- A fax broadcast counts as one job for the F: counter (the fax destinations in the broadcast are not counted separately).
- A fax broadcast is counted only after all the faxes have been sent to their destinations. If one transmission generates an error, then the broadcast will not be counted until the transmission has been completed.
- A printed fax report counts as one job for the F: counter.

8221ADF Org Feeds [0 to 9999999 / 0 / 1] These SPs count the number of pages fed through the ADF for front and back side scanning.
001
FrontNumber of front sides fed for scanning:
With an ADF that can scan both sides simultaneously, the Front side count is the same as the number of pages fed for either simplex or duplex scanning.
With an ADF that cannot scan both sides simultaneously, the Front side count is the same as the number of pages fed for duplex front side scanning. (The front side is determined by which side the user loads face up.)
002
BackNumber of rear sides fed for scanning:
With an ADF that can scan both sides simultaneously, the Back count is the same as the number of pages fed for duplex scanning.
With an ADF that cannot scan both sides simultaneously, the Back count is the same as the number of pages fed for duplex rear-side scanning.
Appendix: Service Program Mode Tables
- When 1 sheet is fed for duplex scanning the Front count is 1 and the Back count is 1.
- If a jam occurs during the job, recovery processing is not counted to avoid double counting. Also, the pages are not counted if the jam occurs before the first sheet is output.
8231Scan PGS/Mode [0 to 9999999 / 0 / 1] These SPs count the number of pages scanned by each ADF mode to determine the work load on the ADF.
001
Large VolumeSelectable. Large copy jobs that cannot be loaded in the ADF at one time.
002
SADFSelectable. Feeding pages one by one through the ADF.
003
Mixed SizeSelectable. Select "Mixed Sizes" on the operation panel. 004 Custom Size Selectable. Originals of non-standard size.
005
PlatenBook mode. Raising the ADF and placing the original directly on the platen.
006
Mixed 1side/2sideSelectable. Select "Simplex/Duplex" on the operation panel.
- If the scan mode is changed during the job, for example, if the user switches from ADF to Platen mode, the count is done for the last selected mode.
- The user cannot select mixed sizes or non-standard sizes with the fax application so if the original's page sizes are mixed or non-standard, these are not counted.
- If the user selects "Mixed Sizes" for copying in the platen mode, the Mixed Size count is enabled.
- In the SADF mode if the user copies 1 page in platen mode and then copies 2 pages with SADF, the Platen count is 1 and the SADF count is 3.

FCFAX TXPGS
- This counts pages sent from a PC using a PC fax application, from the PC through the copier to the destination.
- When sending the same message to more than one place using broadcasting, the pages are only counted once. (For example, a 10-page fax is sent to location A and location B. The counter goes up by 10, not 20.)
8691 T:TX PGS/LS
These SPs count the number of pages sent from the document server. The counter for the application that was used to store the pages is incremented.
[0 to 9999999 / 0 / 1]
The L: counter counts the number of pages stored from within the document server mode screen at the operation panel. Pages stored with the Store File button from within the Copy mode screen go to the C: counter.8692 C:TX PGS/LS 8693 F:TX PGS/LS 8694 P:TX PGS/LS 8695 S:TX PGS/LS 8696 L:TX PGS/LS
Appendix: Service Program Mode Tables
- Print jobs done with Web Image Monitor and Desk Top Binder are added to the count.
- If several documents are merged for sending, the number of pages stored are counted for the application that stored them.
- When several documents are sent by a Fax broadcast, the F: count is done for the number of pages sent to each destination.
8701 | TX PGS/Port | [0 to 9999999 / 0 / 1] |
These SPs count the number of pages sent by the physical port used to send them. For example, if a 3-page original is sent to 4 destinations via ISDN G4, the count for ISDN (G3, G4) is 12. | ||

8771 | Dev Counter | [0to9999999/ 0 / 1] |
These SPs count the frequency of use (number of rotations of the development rollers) for black and other color toners. Note: For machines that do not support color, the Black toner count is the same as the Total count. |
8781 | Toner_Botol_Info. |
This SP displays the number of toner bottles used. The count is done based on the equivalent of 1,000 pages per bottle. |
8791 | LS Memory Remain | This SP displays the percent of space available on the document server for storing documents. [0 to 100 / 0 / 1] |
8801 | Toner Remain | [0 to 100 / 0 / 1] |
This SP displays the percent of toner remaining for each color. This SP allows the user to check the toner supply at any time. Note: This precise method of measuring remaining toner supply (1% steps) is better than other machines in the market that can only measure in increments of 10 (10% steps). This SP is expanded for color MFP and color LP machines. For this machine, the count is done for black only. |
