Throughout the process of experiencing and evaluating the performance of Sony Xperia 1 VI , I realized that the device’s battery life is also one of the important factors and is of interest to many users. - Battery: 5,000 mAh, supports fast charging via USB PD and reverse wireless charging for other devices (according to GSMArena , the device supports 30 W fast charging via USB PD 3.0 standard).
- Operating system: Android 14.
Xperia 1 VI has a 5,000 mAh battery similar to the previous generation, Xperia 1 V.
Procedure for performing battery assessment

- Experience 4 rotating tasks:
- Play Lien Quan (set the graphics to the maximum level that the device supports as shown below)
- Watch videos on YouTube.
- Use Facebook.
- Watch videos on TikTok.
This is the graphics setting that I adjusted in Lien Quan Mobile to evaluate the Xperia 1 VI battery. Because this is a flagship, I want the device to achieve maximum performance during the gaming experience.
- Each task takes 1 hour.
- Rotate tasks from 100% to 0%.
- The device only uses 1 task and has no multitasking applications running in the background.
- The device has a SIM card and network connection, but only uses Wi-Fi connection throughout the review.
- Screen brightness 100%, turn off automatic brightness adjustment feature.
- Image quality setting set: “Standard mode” (by default).
- Screen refresh rate set: “High refresh rate” (equivalent to 120 Hz).
I have set the image quality of the Xperia 1 VI in the “Standard mode” section.
I also adjusted the High Refresh Rate for the Xperia 1 VI’s screen.
- Turn on the speakerphone at 50% volume.
- Do not turn on STAMINA mode (this is battery saving mode), do not turn on GPS and Bluetooth.
I did not turn on STAMINA Mode (or more simply, battery saving mode) on Xperia 1 VI.
Battery review results
The results I obtained are as shown in the image below, the 5,000 mAh battery of the Xperia 1 VI can operate continuously for 11 hours and 9 minutes for 4 rotating tasks.

Battery charge time of Sony Xperia 1 VI
Standards for measuring battery charge time (from 0% to 100%)
To measure the time to fully charge the Xperia 1 VI’s battery (charging from 0% to 100%), I used the Ugreen charging cable and Ugreen 100 W charger to replace the genuine Sony 30 W USB-C charger.
This is a genuine Sony XQZ-UC1 30W charger and cable set, but I currently do not have these two accessories. Source: Sony. Therefore, I will use the Ugreen 100 W charger and the Ugreen charging cable to measure the time it takes to fully charge the Xperia 1 VI’s battery. - The machine is powered on.
- The device has a SIM card and network connection, but only uses Wi-Fi connection throughout the review.
- The device connects to the network and receives notifications normally.
- Charge continuously from 0% to 100% and do not use the device during charging.
- Turned off the “Use Battery Care” feature to prioritize fully charging the device’s battery to 100%.

Results of measuring battery charging time
As a result, it took me 1 hour and 27 minutes to fully charge the 5,000 mAh battery of the Xperia 1 VI (charging from 0% to 100%).

Some of my comments
Based on the results from the battery review with 4 rotating real-life usage tasks, I consider the Xperia 1 VI to be one of the flagship models with very impressive battery life compared to competitors in the same segment. at the present time and especially a quality upgrade in battery life compared to its predecessor Xperia 1 V (battery life 7 hours 19 minutes in detailed review) .

In terms of the Xperia 1 VI’s battery charging speed, I am not too satisfied because I waited about 1 hour and 27 minutes to charge the device’s battery from 0% to 100%. In fact, this number is a bit slower than the 1 hour and 17 minutes of its predecessor, the Xperia 1 V (according to information from GSMArena, the above flagship duo are both equipped with 30 W fast charging). I am not too satisfied with the time it takes to fully charge the battery (from 0% to 100%) of the Sony Xperia 1 VI. In the detailed review of the Xperia 1 VI from GSMArena, they also measured the time it takes to fully charge the device’s battery (from 0% to 100%) using a genuine Sony 30W charger. The result they obtained was 1 hour 30 minutes, faster than 1 hour 37 minutes of Xperia 1 V under the same charging speed test conditions.
Based on the image comparing the charging speed of Xperia 1 VI with some competitors from GSMArena, we can see that the device’s charging waiting time is not too impressive and I hope this will improve in the next generation next (possibly Xperia 1 VII with 65 W charging capacity).

Speaking of charging, I appreciate that the Xperia 1 VI supports reverse wireless charging for other devices. This feature will be a relatively effective firefighting solution in case your phone or accessories are about to run out of battery. For example, I can charge AirPods Pro 2 (Lightning) with Xperia 1 VI. When I tried to charge the iPhone 12 Pro using the reverse wireless charging feature of the Xperia 1 VI, the iPhone sometimes did not accept charging even though I had placed it in the correct position. Perhaps my iPhone is not compatible too well with the wireless reverse charging feature of the flagship from Sony (I will find other phone models to test and share more with you). Xperia 1 VI supports reverse wireless charging for other devices. In fact, previous generations such as Xperia 1 III, Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 1 V all have the above capabilities. I can stably reverse wirelessly charge AirPods Pro 2 with Xperia 1 VI (unfortunately, my iPhone 12 Pro has a problem of not receiving charging).
