Oppo Reno 11 F 5G review: one step back to take many more steps forward

Oppo Reno11 F 5G  camera meets many needs, along with stable battery life, fast charging and moderate performance.

So just over a month after launching the  Reno11 5G and Reno11 Pro 5G  , Oppo has just continued to release the  Reno11 F 5G  version with many differences and accepting “a step back” to have a “breathable” price. ” more, in order to take more steps and reach more users.

The product is emphasized by Oppo on the criterion of “Fun Multi-Focus” with 3 fancy color versions with a sequined back including blue, purple and dark blue, accompanied by a 64MP camera system with a set of image creation tools. Interesting for young users.

Square appearance, trendy, suitable for Gen Z

Right from the design, Reno11 F 5G has brought a completely new back, completely different from the previous Reno11 5G and Reno11 Pro 5G. The back and frame of the Reno11 F are squared, more trendy than the rounded style of the two “elders”, more suitable for young Gen Z users.

Oppo claims that the Reno11 F 5G has the industry’s first sequin-effect back panel, bringing a new and modern feel to users. Specifically, on the purple and blue versions, OPPO said the Reno11 F 5G has a sequined back inspired by ocean waves, with a glossy finish that reflects streaks of light at each angle. At the same time, it effectively helps prevent fingerprints and sweat stains. Meanwhile, the dark blue version has a dark emerald green color, with the OPPO Glow design creating a smooth, matte effect and sparkling in the light.

The device still maintains its characteristic thin and light design, comfortable to hold with a thickness of only 7.54mm and a light weight of 177g. The camera cluster is also designed squarely in an oasis shape, creating eye-catching lighting effects. Even though it has a square design, at the edges, Oppo still makes slight beveled lines at the edges to make holding it less tiring.

Notably, the Oppo Reno11 F is equipped with IP65 water and dust resistance, which is rare on Oppo’s mid-range smartphones. You can rest assured if you use the device in drizzle or when exposed to water. The manufacturer says the device can withstand water drops from many directions at low pressure, withstand water splashes for 3 minutes and can withstand use in drizzle for 60 minutes.

The point I find most unfortunate about the design of the Reno11 F is that the back and frame are only made of plastic, although they are still solid and sturdy, but still do not create a cool, high-class feeling like machines using frames. Metal, glass back.

Airy, high-quality thin-bezel screen

Along with using a square design, the front of the Reno11 F also makes a strong impression with a thin bezel screen on all four sides, including the chin, creating an eye-catching, vivid visual effect. This makes watching videos, playing games, or simply browsing the web, surfing the web on Reno11 F become more airy and pleasant to the eyes.

The parameters on the screen are also high-end with a size of 6.7 inches, AMOLED panel, FHD resolution (2412 × 1080), 120Hz refresh rate, maximum brightness of 1,1100 nit, display capacity of 1.07 billion colors thanks to the 10-bit panel, meeting 100% DCI P3 color range, 100% sRGB, screen-to-body ratio reaches 93.4% with a screen border thickness of only 1.47mm. Bright display colors, smooth scrolling, and high brightness help you see clearly even under harsh sunlight. Combined with the thin screen border, there’s really nothing to complain about the Reno11 F’s screen.

Similar to previous Reno generations, Reno11 F still uses in-screen fingerprints with fast and accurate recognition speed.

To support the audio-visual experience, Oppo is equipped with a 300% super volume mode that supports pushing the volume 3 times higher to serve in noisy environments. However, Reno11 F lacks dual speakers, the device only has a single speaker on the bottom edge, which somewhat reduces the “pleasure” when watching videos, playing games, and listening to music with external speakers.

The camera has many diverse shooting modes, optimized for Portrait photos

Still emphasizing the ability to take portraits, Oppo equips the Reno11 F with a 3-rear camera system with a 64MP high-resolution main camera, f/1.7 aperture; field of view 81°; supports OIS with Smart Night Mode and flexible 25mm focal length to capture more beautiful photo angles in dark environments.

Besides, there is an 8MP, 112º super wide-angle camera that meets the needs of wide-angle, landscape, architectural, and group photography. Finally, there is a 2MP macro camera for close-up photography. On the front, the device has a 32MP camera for taking selfies and recording vlogs. Both the 64MP main camera and the 32MP selfie camera allow 4K 30fps video recording.

So compared to the previous Reno11 and Reno11 Pro versions, the Reno11 F has had the 2X telephoto camera with 2X optical zoom removed. In return, Oppo continues to equip Reno11 F with Portrait photography algorithms to improve photo quality when taking photos of people with the ability to recognize faces and subjects, calibrate skin tones as well as beautify facial contours, highlighting both the subject and the background.

Oppo also integrates a set of image creation tools that include many smart and interesting features such as Smart Background Separation that helps separate the background of up to 6 subjects in a photo with just one click and save it in the File area. transit, so users can design new photos or stickers and easily share them to other applications.

The Interval Shooting feature allows you to set a timer to take as many photos as you want without having to press the shutter button between each photo. Some other post-production features such as Animated GIF, AI Color Palette or Photo Collage help users create interesting content using only the utilities available on the device.

My photography experience with Reno11 F can be summed up in two words: satisfaction. The camera provides fast shooting speed, image saving, and focus capture in most lighting conditions. The image quality is sharp, the colors are bright, and the light range is wide. Even though there is no telephoto camera, with a large 64MP sensor, Reno11 F can still zoom 2X smoothly in bright enough conditions. The device also allows 2X zoom even when shooting in Portrait mode to remove the background, so it is very suitable when taking photos. close-up portraits.

With the super wide-angle camera, because it only has 8MP resolution, in terms of sharpness and detail, it will not be as good as the 64MP main camera, but Oppo has also tried to fine-tune to maintain color uniformity and white balance with main camera. Of course, this camera’s low-light shooting ability is still not equal even with the support of night mode.

The 2MP macro camera is almost just for “fun”, because the sharpness, color, and details are all very low. Using the 2X and 3X zoom modes from the 64MP main camera also produces much better quality close-up photos.

Performance is sufficient for most common tasks, not suitable for heavy games

In terms of performance, Reno11 F 5G continues to use the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor similar to the previous Reno11 5G and Reno10 5G versions, comes with a default 8GB of RAM and can be expanded by 8GB of virtual RAM from internal memory to use. Use more applications and tasks at the same time. The internal memory has a capacity of 256GB and supports expansion up to 2TB via a microSD card located in the SIM 2 slot.

Dimensity 7050 is a quite popular chip in the mid-range segment today and appears on many smartphones from Oppo and realme. Overall, the Dimensity 7050 provides moderate performance, its parameters are very close to the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, a slight upgrade of the mid-range chip Dimensity 920.

In basic use, the Reno11 F’s performance is still smooth and agile, but you will notice that the device lags slightly and freezes slightly if you perform high-speed gestures to return to the home screen, switch to multitasking, or open many apps. In return, the machine runs very cool and stable, I have never experienced heat or overheating during the experience. I tried testing with benchmark software, as well as system stress test software, and the Reno11 F showed high stability, without throttled performance due to overheating.

However, with heavier tasks, especially when playing games, you will need to lower the graphics settings, usually to the lowest level to be able to play okay at a frame rate of 40-50fps. If you are a person who focuses on performance and likes to play games, there will be other more optimal options.

The battery lasts well all day with high intensity and quick charging

Regarding battery and charging speed, the Reno11 F is equipped with SUPERVOOC 67W fast charging and a large 5000mAh battery, which according to Oppo, takes 100% charging time in just 48 minutes.

The 5,000 mAh battery helps Reno11 F provide stable usage time with 7 – 8 hours of screen brightness. My usage intensity in a day is quite high, from surfing the web, checking Facebook, watching Youtube, listening to music, even taking photos and occasionally playing games on the 4G network, the device is enough for a day from 8 am to 10 pm when I go to bed. .

As for charging speed, in fact when I tried charging the Reno11 F with the included 67W charger, the device only took about 50 minutes to fill from 0% to 100% battery, of which the first 15 minutes were about 40% battery. This charging speed is not the fastest, because there are already 100W chargers, but it is still fast enough that you no longer need to charge overnight. Every morning, before brushing my teeth and washing my face, I plug it in to charge and after about 30 minutes the battery is about 75-80% charged, enough to use all day.

Software with many customizable features

Regarding software, Reno11 F 5G comes pre-installed with ColorOS 14 based on the latest Android 14 with a series of features that help increase work efficiency, information security, as well as increase device durability.

Some typical new features such as Smart Identification and File Transfer help users easily copy multiple images, text or files at once, and quickly drag and drop to other applications. The floating status bar allows users to monitor the status of applications right on the home screen. The system-wide Search feature is effective when users need to find any application, file or contact data, with the search button located on the main screen.

In addition, to increase device performance, ColorOS 14 also integrates the Trinity Engine algorithm to optimize the ROM, RAM and CPU capacity of the device. Oppo says this algorithm can compress unused data and delete duplicate files to save up to 19GB of ROM, keep up to 28 apps running in the background on RAM capacity, as well as learn the user’s usage habits. users to optimize device performance and battery life.

Summary: The smartphone is suitable for young people who pay a lot of attention to appearance, like new colors, and are eager to tinker with photography modes.

Compared to its predecessors Reno11 and Reno11 Pro, it can be seen that Reno11 F has taken a “step back” most clearly by cutting down on the 2X telephoto camera, in addition to the dual speaker system for a lower price. 2 million VND. In return, the device has a new, more youthful design, more suitable for young people, helping Oppo take more steps in convincing Gen Z subjects to “close orders”.

At the price range, Oppo Reno11 F 5G will compete with rivals Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, realme 11 Pro 5G, Samsung Galaxy A54, vivo V29e 5G or Honor X9b. The advantages of Reno11 F 5G are eye-catching back design, unique colors, square design, catching trends, suitable for Gen Z, diverse camera shooting modes, optimized for Portrait photos, good battery life. , fast charging, high quality screen. In return, the performance of the Reno11 F is only moderate, enough for basic needs, and will be lacking if you need to play heavy games or complex video editing tasks.
