Microsoft launches new cortana application on Windows 10
Microsoft said the company is adjusting the way Cortana works on Windows 10.
While this virtual assistant may stop supporting on Xbox One, Microsoft is testing a new chat interface for Cortana on computers running Windows 10.
This test application was launched last month and has now been officially released to test users, supporting both text and voice queries.
Cortana is designed to be more capable of communicating with users, a big move by Microsoft to show that the company is focused on developing its virtual assistant.
Recently, Microsoft has separated the virtual assistant Cortana and the Windows 10 search engine, while focusing on the business user segment.
Cortana virtual assistant application only supports most existing features such as information query, assistant interaction, application opening, list management and other basic features such as reminders and alarms , timer ...
"However, not all the old features are available on this new application," said Dona Sarkar, Window Insider manager. "This is just a trial version, in the near future we will add many new features in the updates for Cortana from Microsoft Store."
The new virtual assistant Cortana is available in the Fast Ring update for Window 10, build 18945. It is expected that this application will be delivered to Window 10 users in the first half of 2020. In addition, Microsoft has also refine the "Hey, Cortana" feature to make it less annoying.
At the same time, Cortana also supports both day and night interfaces on Window 10. The performance of virtual assistant Cortana is also "significantly increased" thanks to the new language and communication set.
